Kids - And How to Get Around Them
After a long period of hard work and distress, what could promise more relaxation than a long cruise on the Atlantic, pausing on the land from time to time to discover interesting foreign places and have plenty of time for abandoning yourself to idle relaxation, relishing good food and taking part in various leisure-time activities?
We do not want to disenchant you, but the ideal image we have just evoked in your head can quite easily get disturbed by kids training for water bombs in the pool while you are trying to read a book there, or besieging you with their Super Soakers 9000 when you are dressed up and on your way to the dining room; or a horde of pre-teens chasing each other around the deck, giving you just one feeble chance to cling to the railing and save yourself from getting knocked overboard. On such moments, you will probably feel very far from the relaxing holiday you were dreaming of.
Insensitive as it may sound, there is some truth in the opinion that children and a relaxing vacation do not mix very well. Whether or not you have kids yourself, you almost surely know from your own experience that they can be exasperating at times. If you were looking forward to a luxurious, calm and "peaceful" cruise, a rowdy teenage gang hanging around with you is something that you will not take easy.
The presentation of an article on cruise plays an important role in getting the reader interested in reading it. This is the reason for this presentation, which has gotten you interested in reading it!
It was really tough getting information about anything previously. Now with the advent of the Internet, anyone can access any information at any time of the day.
So is it now the time to cross a cruise off your list of vacation alternatives when you are looking for some peace? No, but still it can help to find out more about the different options you have available so that you can decide on a cruise that reduces the risks of getting lost among crowds of kids and teenagers.
It would make sense to go for a cruise line that does not offer fun activities for kids. At first this might seem paradox since there are no planned activities for kids to keep them out of your way. But families will probably go for cruise lines which hold special family offers, so the other lines are less frequented by young crowds.
Cruise lines which offer family friendly trips have two things in mind. First, they intend draw future prospects by winning over young people for cruising. And second, they want to sell as many tickets as possible and special offers are a promising idea to reach that target. By assuring passengers that their kids will be taken care of on board, they make parents bring their youngsters along even if they may have intended to leave them at home.
Another thing you should avoid besides family cruises is traveling during school holidays. Parents are not very willing to keep their kids out of school just for a cruise. So if kids on the ship are something you would rather do without, it's not advisable to go on a cruise during the summer months, Christmas, and spring break.
Finally, it may be wise not to choose cruise lines like Disney, Carnival Cruises and Princess, which will attract young people with their special kids and teenagers programme at any time of the year. Your safest choice would be the Radisson, Celebrity or Crystal lines.
